British Virgin Islands

Sailing Trip To British Virgin Island

We became empty nesters quite a long ago, and since we have been on numerous trips with our daughters and grandkids, we decided to call up Beth’s brothers and their wives. Together we planned to visit British Virgin Island – its baby boomers’ getaway. The British Virgin Island is located in the northeast of the Caribbean and is massively famous for their magnificent beauty and calm waters. The idyllic environment and its beauty make it one of the best locations for sailing trips and vacations. Thus, with Bill, Donna, John, and Melinda – we set off to explore the island and have a perfect relaxing vacation.

Our morning began with exploring the town, which was pretty small, and later we jumped on the boat to explore the water. Being on a boat and on the water can relax your soul to such an extent that wasn’t known to me. Standing on the deck of the sailing ship provides you with the pure essence of freedom. It reminded me how we are stepping out of our comfort zone and are determined to explore, discover, and pursue growth even in our silver age. Our experience on the sailboat was amazing. Sun was out and warming up our skin all over; the breeze was strong, and it lightly brushed our skin; the passing clouds made the temperature ideal. We all sat there and chatted about our lives, reminisced our old memories, and talked about how our purposeful temporary living has been so blissful.

The calm crashing sound of waves was not deafening. One of the most eye-catching things I discovered was the fact that the water of the British Virgin Islands was aqua. It was clear, but it wasn’t blue, neither green nor turquoise – it was soft noonish aqua that was sparking under the sun’s rays. The island’s low mountains and lush greenery were unique and refreshing. The magnificent coral reefs surrounded the water, and I would have put on a mask and gone for a snorkel if only I could.

After getting off the boat, which dropped us right in front of the center of things, we strolled around the shore for a bit and discovered beach bars that were serving extremely delicious tropical cocktails. Our days on the British Virgin Islands were filled with sailing, boat paddling, and mouthwatering food. The stunning lagoons with gorgeous sunsets and late-night walks made me realize that this is life. The life I always wanted to live. After struggling and keeping up with personal and professional responsibilities – we really deserved this. We stayed there for a couple of days, and I am telling you this place was paradise. Stunningly unspoiled and landlocked with harbors – the British Virgin Island has become my favorite destination for a vacation.

We clicked a number of pictures, but honestly, they do not do it enough justice. The pristine aqua beaches with a fresh breeze and amazing greenery can not be captured through the lens. I embraced the freedom of sailing in the British Virgin Islands.
