Bike Ride With Daughter Amanda's Family On Silver Comet Trail

Tucked away in gorgeous and luscious greenery and the woodland of Georgia, the silver comet trail is a long trail of 61.5 miles built along the abandoned railway lines. My daughter Amanda visited us with her husband and kids, so we decided to take a quick bike ride on the silver comet trail. If you are inclined, you can complete 61 miles, but we opted for a 35-mile bike ride. As promised, the silver comet trail was exceptionally smooth and covered with thick forest on either side. For those who do not know, the silver comet trail is named after a shiny silver passenger train that traveled along this route from 1947 to 1969. How cool is that?

Our safe bike riding was accompanied by mind-boggling natural scenery that abounded the silver comet trail and provided a quiet, mesmerizing, and, most important non-motorized way for bike riding.

The trail was very well-maintained and mostly shady, providing us with a nice paved way to ride the bike. The forests that stretch along the trail and the rocky steep-side banks add more glory to its beauty. When you are lacing up your shoes and bikes for the silver comet trail, ensure you do them well because it is a bit hilly up there. If I talk about the trail in particular, it is rather flat, but the trail will take you to places like two bug hills and some small ones, which are a little tricky, along with some iconic and breathtaking waterscapes.

My grandkids, Kate, Tyler, and Madeline, enjoyed biking down, especially when we were about to enter the Brushy Mountain Tunnel. The dark 800 feet massive tunnel was amazing. As soon as we entered it, the gentle sway of air hit our faces and rejuvenated our souls. My grandkids were laughing, and their voice was echoing, and the sensation of heart beating and thumping in my neck made me feel alive and kicking. My husband and I are a young sixty-year-old couple, and our passion for cycling and exploring scenic beauty has been renewed at silver comet trail.

Biking with the little ones means getting a consistent form of commentary and pointing at whatever they see around the trail. This is probably why I love going on bike rides with them. Hearing them talk, laugh, and their questions makes me laugh and adds more happiness to my life. I have biked and been to other places, but the silver comet trail has been on my radar ever since. Not only is this place perfect for bikes but the other trails, such as the chief Ladiga trail – when they meet the silver comet trail, it allows us to explore more new places.

Our silver comet trip ended up being great and memorable. For baby boomers looking for a safe, reliable place to interact and enjoy with their friends and family, I highly recommend silver comet trail. It made me proud and happy that we biked here for so long. The beauty was breathtaking, especially for people coming from afar and hustling city life – they will definitely enjoy the natural luscious forest and cool hair that rejuvenates your soul. The natural transition of trees, temperature, wind, and beauty reminded me why I love living exploratory life and embracing the unknown and the outdoors.

After coming back home, my biking buddies (grandkids) and I had already planned another bike ride on the silver comet trail, and this time we planned to visit them on gusty days to see how the trees blocks and diffuse the wind and make our ride memorable again.
