Incline Railroad

Incline Railroad

Sometimes the end of a bike ride rewards one with a special treat. Today’s ride on the Blue Goose Hollow trail, we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day with all of the sights along the Tennesse River with a treat for peddling all the way to the end just past St. Elmo at the bottom of Lookout Mountain.

Lookout Mountain has been a popular tourist destination in Tennessee and Georgia for centuries. Over the years, several businessmen have built hotels on the mountain to allow visitors to experience its attractions and breathtaking views.

The special treat was the Incline Railroad loading spot where tourists and locals this rail ride to the top of Lookout Mountain. Occasional presidents (Teddy Roosevelt) and stars (Elizabeth Taylor) have enjoyed the mile-long “chug” up the mountain.

Lunch At River Street Deli

Today was a bit different. Beth and I usually plan our biking sessions and even ask our family members if they want to join us. But today, Beth suggests an impromptu bike ride out of the blue, and I mean, who can say no to a bike ride in this amazing weather? The sky was clear, and the wind was gushing, so we quickly took our bikes and peddled down the road.

Riding a bike with your significant is extremely relaxing. In our case, we are a young sixty-year-old couple who have lived through our lives by working and fulfilling professional and personal duties and responsibilities. We honestly never had chances to go out and have some time to ourselves, and now that we go on such bike rides, it makes me realize how much we have missed.

The hustle and bustle of our working lives nearly wrecked us, and now, when we get to enjoy such rides now, it just makes us extremely happy. Once we reached the riverwalk parkway, we instantly melted away into the scenic beauty and the dense, luscious greenery around it. We got immersed in the environment around us; doing this together brings us ultimate joy and happiness.

Another thing that adds happiness to our lives is food. Thus, when we began riding our bikes, our impromptu biking turned into an impromptu lunch date, which we both love. Although we have experienced and tried a lot of food in Chattanooga, one place that caught our attention was River Street Deli. Everything seems perfect, from the food to its ambiance. The river street deli has always been on our list whenever we are looking for a quick small grab. There are few restaurants in Chattanooga, but Beth and I purposely and selfishly cling to river street deli because they are culinary heaven.

Tucked and located away in the busiest corridors of Chattanooga, the river streel deli seems almost hidden, so I want to personally tell you that the restaurant itself might look small and facade, but it is the epicenter of all good things to eat. They have an extremely welcoming environment which makes it great. It’s up to you whether you want to dine in or want to take out the food and enjoy in the nearby Coolidge park.
